ROB MILLER GOES NEGATIVE IN SECOND TV AD Liberal Democrat exposes his hypocrisy by talking tough on protecting jobs, while taking money from a company that outsources them abroad. (Columbia, SC – September 3, 2010) Just 16 days after releasing his first TV commercial in the SC-02 District race, liberal Democrat Rob Miller is going negative in his second ad. But instead of portraying Miller as a fierce defender of American jobs, it actually reveals his disturbing double standard. Miller proudly proclaims in his new commercial: “... I'll never outsource South Carolina jobs.” Wait a minute, Rob. Your actions don't match your words. Just weeks ago in July, Rob Miller held multiple fundraisers in Washington, DC. One was hosted by the law firm of Bryan Cave LLC. It has a wholly-owned subsidiary called Bryan Cave International Trade LLC, which is run by Evan Yee-Fan Chuck. … [Read more...]

Floyd: bin Laden comment shows how out of touch Spratt is
Liberal Democratic Congressman John Spratt’s refusal to take a stand on his aide comparing his Republican opponent to Osama bin Laden shows just how out of touch Spratt has become with his district, said SCGOP Chairman Karen Floyd today. In a report in a Columbia publication this week, Spratt’s campaign spokesman said, “If Osama bin Laden ran in this district as a Republican, he would get 38 to 40 percent of the vote in any election year.” The article goes on to say that Spratt was “walking alongside” the staffer who made the comment, and said nothing to disagree. Now, the Spratt team can’t seem to get its story straight regarding the remarks. In one news report today, the aide stood by the remarks, and in another, he apologized! You can see the conflicting reports here: Click here to read the apology. Now, click here to read the non-apology. It is hard to decide … [Read more...]
Rob Miller’s ethical shortcuts don’t jibe with his ethics plan
ROB MILLER PLAYS LOOSE WITH ETHICS RULES How can liberal Democrat propose ethics reform when he doesn't honor the spirit of the existing rules? (Columbia, SC – August 30, 2010) Second Congressional district hopeful Rob Miller tries to position himself as a champion of ethics reform. He has proposed a package that his campaign website claims will “restore faith in government.” But it's hard to believe the liberal Democrat is attempting to campaign on “restoring faith” when he has disregarded House ethics rules right out of the gate. The Ethics in Government Act of 1978 requires all House candidates to file a Personal Financial Disclosure Statement. Among other things, candidates must report any liabilities, such as debt from a line of credit, they may have. They are also given the option of identifying all co-owners of property they own. In May 2006, Rob Miller … [Read more...]
Highest Ranking Democrat Won’t Vote Straight Ticket
In a story that is quite telling of the state of the Democrat Party in South Carolina, Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC6) told reporters Thursday that he would not be supporting the entire Democratic Ticket in November’s election. As the third highest-ranking member in the US House of Representatives (and the highest ranking South Carolina Democrat) Mr. Clyburn stated he would “not vote for Mr. Greene.” Alvin Greene, the Democrat nominee for US Senate and a member of the Greene-Sheheen dream ticket, was recently indicted with a felony obscenity and a misdemeanor obscenity charge. It may also be the first time that a leader of any party in Congress has publicly stated his intention to not vote for his party’s nominee for US Senate. This admission from Rep. Clyburn means there are huge problems from Democrats up and down the ballot. If their leading official in South Carolina won't vote … [Read more...]
Rob Miller – the real Big Spender in the SC-02 Congressional race
HEY, BIG SPENDER! Liberal Democrat Rob Miller doesn't “practice what he preaches” on spending (COLUMBIA, SC – August 25, 2010) “When you point a finger at someone, you have three fingers pointing back at you.” Perhaps Rob Miller missed school the day his teacher taught that lesson. Although he is pointing an accusing finger on federal spending, his own fingers point right back at him on the same subject. It all started late last week when the liberal Democrat's congressional campaign issued a news release attacking Congressman Joe Wilson for supporting “the single largest instance of government spending in the history of our country when he voted for the bailout...” Stop right there. For starters, Miller's assertion is wrong. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, commonly known as the “Stimulus Bill,” carried an estimated $814 billion … [Read more...]
